Fitness Class descriptions

Bootcamp:
A fitness boot camp is type of group exercise class that mixes traditional calisthenic and body weight exercises with interval training and strength training. Sometimes this class will be outdoors.

Strong:
STRONG by Zumba® combines body weight, muscle conditioning, cardio and plyometric training moves synced to original music that has been specifically designed to match every single move


HIIT
or high-intensity interval training, is a training technique in which you give all-out, one hundred percent effort through quick, intense bursts of exercise, followed by short, sometimes active, recovery periods.

BARRE 
uses a combination of postures inspired by ballet and other disciplines like yoga and Pilates. The barre or sometimes a chair, is used as a prop to balance while doing exercises that focus on isometric strength training (holding your body still while you contract a specific set of muscles) combined with high reps of small range-of-motion movements. Also incorporates light handheld weights to bring the burn during all those reps, as well as mats for targeted core work.

YOGA:
 Derived from the Sankrit word "yuj" which means "to unite or integrate", yoga is a 5000 year old Indian body of knowledge. Yoga is all about harmonizing the body with the mind and breath through the means of various breathing techniques, yoga postures (asanas) and meditation.

PILATES:
designed to work every muscle in the body in an efficient, focused manner. The exercises are designed to align, lengthen, and strengthen the body in a unique way. Most movements are non-impact and non-weight bearing.


ZUMBA: 
Zumba involves dance and aerobic elements. The choreography incorporates hip-hop, soca, samba, salsa, merengue and mambo. Squats and lunges are also included.You do not have to be a dancer to enjoy the fitness elements in this fun latin inspired cardio party.  This is not a technique class.  Just lots and lots of fun!


Tai chi/ Qi Gong Blend:
a form of moderate slow-motion exercise, a type of moving meditation, and a system of martial art. The movements can be adapted for various degrees of relaxation or rigorous exercise, depending on the needs of the practitioner.

Dance Fitness:
Dance for Fun and Health!  You will sweat and move to music of all kinds.  This is a cardio focused class that uses dance movements to engage and make you smile.


40/20 circuit training:
Get a fat blasting, full body sculpting workout in under 30 minutes with this amazing program created for all fitness levels!  Try the 8week challenge!  Do the 40/20 for 8 weeks and if you don't get results, we give you your money back!  Ask for details to qualify.
Silver Circuit:
a modified version of the 40/20 circuit for those that have difficulty with exercise.  We ask our "athletes" to not come in during this time.  Thank you.
